A Dry Double Standard

While watching an episode of Good Eats, I came across a question that only a sleepless mind could come up with at 3am.
Why do raisins & prunes have distinct names from the fruits they’re dehydrated from- while apples, strawberries & such get a simple dried prefix? Why can’t dried apples be alups and dried strawberries be stassins?
It’s too late for me to research the topic, but at first glance, there’s no obvious logic for it. Injustice like this is what keeps people like me awake at night
