  1. Pretty tame rendition of waterboarding IMO. Still, as any and all can see he was not harmed in the least. Waterboarding, is a mind trick. Albeit a very effective one.

  2. I must admit, I am unable to make up my mind about waterboarding. On the one hand, I can imagine that it is the most gruesome method of distressing someone. As a nation of leaders and principle, we are not to abandon our ideology. If we torture our enemies, our enemies will torture our captured soldiers. And I can guarantee that, under strain of torture and pain, anyone can say anything whether truthful or not. The only objective at that time is to make the pain stop.

On the other hand, posturing and the threat of torture could be a deterent to would-be terrorists. We see it in the animal kingdom. Much more posturing goes on than actual fights. We see it in social settings. We all know of individuals that portray an ora of don’t-mess-with-me-or-else. We see it in politics. Israel is a perfect examples of a country that many others don’t want to screw with.

I still can’t make up my mind.

  3. Oh believe me, there are much more worse things out there than waterboarding. Any interrogation can, and will yield bad information. Getting it properly vetted is a part of the Intelligence Cycle. I find it unfortunate that the few incidences where it was used did indeed pan out.
