Light on the Little Things
11Dec08
This morning, Julie calls me into the bathroom. Not to just look in the bathroom, but to join her in there and she proceeds to close the door.
“Look.“
“What?“
She was so happy. “The light. Doesn’t it set the mood better than the overhead light? It goes along with our pictures of dead people, skeleton keys & unpolished copper trays that decorate it.“

She’s right though. It does look a lot better and is more comfortable, allowing your bowels to relax a lot easier and stuff
what light is best for you?
Malik: What? I said she was right. I don’t get your question.
I just moved my roommate’s bamboo plant into the bathroom. It’s like showering in the jungle now. I love it. Next step – improved lighting.
Julie clearly has excellent design sensibilities.
Steph: Ha, funny you mention bamboo. I had two large ones from our office that I took home to decorate with when I lived in Florida. I put one on each side of my bed and it was like sleeping (like you said) in the jungle every night. I also had large, soft-green framed mirrors on my walls, which added to the “jungle” feel.
And yes she does have good design sensibilities, but it was only due to necessity that she came up with that. Our light bulbs blew, so she moved the lamp in there. What’s the saying, “Necessity is the mother of creation… and decoration?”
